李真 LI Chen
李真，1963年生於台灣雲林，1981年畢業於大甲高工美工科。創作以東方儒、佛、道家思想為根基，融入自我攝心之情感，並兼具東方氣韻及西方極簡風格，為禪宗思想和當代藝術表現的完美結合。他的雕塑有著細膩溫潤的表面質感，充滿震撼力與濃厚的空靈氣韻，圓滿而大氣，黑色外觀看似沈重卻自在輕盈，呈現「既重又輕」的奇特感受。
2007年受邀參加第五十二屆義大利威尼斯雙年展，為百年來首位以個人名義受邀舉行個展的華人藝術家；2011年底於台北中正紀念堂舉辦亞洲區歷年來最大型之戶外雕塑個展；2013年自法國巴黎凡登廣場開始，陸續將於世界各國舉辦大型巡迴個展，2015年五月更受法國「坎城影展」邀請，為影展史上首位展出的藝術家，足見其於華人當代藝術界的翹首地位。
Li Chen was born in 1963 in Yunlin, Taiwan. He graduated from Dajia Senior High School in 1981. Rooted in eastern Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, his works of perfect and magnificence combine the emotional sentiments with western Minimalism style, blending Buddhist and Taoist traditional influences with contemporary interpretations and serves as an ongoing dialogue between Eastern and Western artistic inspirations. His sculptures are full of ethereal aesthetic deeply and giving miraculous feelings of “heavy yet light” in spite of the heavy appearance in black.
In 2007, he was invited to the 52nd Venice Biennale and was the first ever Chinese artist who held a solo exhibition there by individual for centuries. At the end of 2011, he gave his exhibition at CKS Memorial Hall in Taipei, kicking off the large-scale outdoor sculpture solo exhibition ever in Asia. He continues his global solo exhibition tour since another exhibition at Place Vendome in Paris, France, in 2013. In May of 2015, he was the primary artist holding an exhibition by invitation in history at Cannes Film Festival in France which shows his leading position in Chinese contemporary art world.
