Wen Liao 廖雯
廖雯，1994年出生於成都，2019年獲中國中央美術學院藝術碩士學位。其作品曾獲《紐約時報》、《ArtReview》及《Art in America》等國際刊物報導，近年也於巴黎貝浩登畫廊、廣東時代美術館及威尼斯等地的藝術機構參與個展與群展，並於2025年參與瑞士文化基金會Pro Helvetia的駐地計畫。現生活與工作於香港。
廖雯以雕塑、表演與影像為主要創作媒介，汲取木偶藝術、神話與儀式人類學、醫學及藝術史等領域的養分，探討投射於身體之上的社會秩序、技術機制與權力規訓。藝術家將過去製作和表演木偶的經驗融入雕塑中，紀錄生命中重要的瞬間，並反應現代社會中個體的孤獨與隱藏其下的韌性。廖雯的作品兼具原始性與未來感，呈現身體處於閾限狀態時的不穩定與不安，並藉此想像未來身體的多重可能。
Liao Wen (b. 1994, China, Chengdu) received her MFA from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China in 2019. Her work has been featured in international publications including The New York Times, ArtReview, and Art in America. In recent years, she has presented work in solo and group exhibitions at institutions and galleries including Perrotin in Paris, Guangdong Times Museum, and venues in Venice. In 2025, she was selected for a residency supported by Pro Helvetia, the Swiss Arts Council. She currently lives and works in Hong Kong.
Working across sculpture, performance, and video, Liao draws on puppetry, the anthropology of myth and ritual, medicine, and art history to examine the social orders, technological systems, and disciplinary structures of power imposed upon the body. Incorporating her earlier experience in puppet making and performance into her sculptural practice, Liao captures significant moments in life while reflecting on individual solitude in contemporary society and the resilience that lies beneath it. Both primordial and futuristic, her works articulate the instability and unease of bodies suspended in liminal states, while envisioning multiple possibilities for the bodies of the future.
